Twelve customs-vehicles destroyed by fire

The police in Rastatt is searching for an arsonnist after twelve vehicles of German customs authorities went up in flames. The damage done to the cars and the building is estimated to be several 100.000 Euro. Police said that fire at a shed of the main customs offices of Karlsruhe – situated at former army barracks south of Rastatt - was reported at 1:30 on Tuesday night by someone on the road. To extinguish the fire the traffic around the custms-shed on federal road B 36 has to be stopped temporarliy. About 40 fire fighters were at the site. An investigative group assesses the traces.
